Fitness
Fitness is something our culture knows about, but doesn’t activity participate in. Our lifestyles contain too much fast food and not enough exercise. Fitness is essential for your well being and overall health. It can make you age slower and live longer. Fitness keeps the blood pumping in your body and your heart healthy. Those who participate in fitness activities for at least 30 minutes each day significantly reduce their risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.Fitness doesn’t have to be grueling exercises that leave you exhausted and sweaty. It can be a brisk walk each morning or on your lunch hour. It can be playing in the yard with your children in sports like kickball, basketball, and football. Fitness can also mean lifting weights, aerobics, or yoga. The more you enjoy the fitness activities you participate in, the more likely you are to stick with them. For added motivation mix things up a bit and vary your activities. Find a friend to do a fitness plan with so you will have some motivation. It is also a great way to deepen your friendship and encourage each other to do another set of reps or to walk another lap.Your family can spend more quality time together while participating in fitness activities including sports and bike riding. Studies show children who have regular fitness activities in their daily routines are less likely to be overweight and more likely to keep fitness a part of their lifestyle when they get older. Studies also show children are spending less time outdoors and less time on fitness activities because they are busy indoors with video games, TV, computers, and cell phones. There are many articles online and fitness magazines out there to help you make positive changes to your lifestyle. You can also join the gym or hire a personal trainer. Fitness should be something you do daily, not think about doing or wish later in life you had made time for. The hardest part about fitness is getting started. As long as you get moving you are on the right track. The smallest changes in your daily activities can help you get fit.Don’t think you can put on a pair of running shoes and go for ten miles after years of sitting around. You just might give yourself a heart attack trying that! Instead, start out with a short distance and slowly increase your distance each week. If you do too much at once you can damage your body as well as wear yourself down. All that will do is discourage you and lead to you giving up rather quickly on your quest for fitness. Before you start any fitness program, it is a good idea to get a check up from your doctor and discuss your fitness goals. Make sure you do any exercises properly and that you take the time to stretch, warm up, and cool down each time. Fitness is very important but doing it properly is crucial for it to be effective.Get all the latest information about Fitness from the only true source at http://1fitnessinformation.com/ Be sure to check out our Fitness pages.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Gene_Ilten
Strength Training Basics
Strength training is a form of anaerobe exercise that has the goal of increasing strength of skeletal muscles. It can be utilized for both rehabilitation and fitness purposes as well as in sports specific training. In this section follows a basic description of some of the main principles of strength training.
Strength Training Principles: There are three fundamental elements to a successful strength training program
Overload: To experience gains in strength the muscle must be loaded more than it is accustomed to.
Progression: The active muscle must work against a gradually increasing resistance in order to meet the overload.
Specificity: Gains in strength are dependent on the muscle group used, and movement pattern performed
Gains in strength are not necessarily due to increased muscle size or cross sectional area. This is particularly true in the very first phase of starting a new strength training program.
The changes that takes place in this very first phase is mainly due to the nervous system adapting to new stimuli. The centers of the brain controlling movement learns to recruit the neural pathways of the specific movement more efficiently. As a results increased strength and load-bearing capacity is achieved . The principle of specificity particularly applies in this respect.
There are many theories as to why strength training results in muscle growth. Actual Muscle growth is not observed until at least six weeks into a training program. This is true for beginners muscle growth may happen faster in people who has taken a pause from a previous long term exercise program.
More articles specifically on muscle growth will be submitted

Start Body Building
So you are starting body building, but what exactly is it. When starting anything in life its always important to understand exactly what it is, so that you can explain to at least yourself what you are doing.
Body building can be defined as basically where the body is made to work against gravity and in that process the body adapts, becomes stronger and forms more muscular shape that is a body builder. In my opinion if you have ever wanted to do some exercise you are in fact a body builder. For in the stricter sense we think only of competition body builders. However, if you think about it, if your lifting weights are running on a treadmill, are you not trying to shape, maintain or strengthen your body, hence we're all body builders.
Now weight training is a form of exercise which subjects the body to an increase in the amount of resistance. This is in the form of weights or weight machines, or even your own body weight. When you weight train it increases the size of the muscles, and once our bodies adapt to the increase in load, the size of the muscles increase, which then leads to more strength and a better state of fitness.
When we participate in body building or resistance training our muscles (composed of fibers) tire out. This then leads to recruiting new muscle fibers, or muscle gain. This only happens however if the weight is heavy enough and that the any amount of weight can only be lifted to failure or to the prescribed number of repetitions.
One more point, it you think you building your body you train, well think again. Your body repairs itself and gets bigger whilst you rest, so get plenty of rest or sleep when your starting body building.

Weight Lifting - Weight Loss
Weight lifting helps achieve weight loss goals because it helps boost your metabolism, which generates additional fat burning enzymes, and your body subsequently burns more fat.
There is some conflicting information on weight lifting and weight loss goals, however.
One expert has stated that if a person is more than 25 pounds overweight that they should set the weight training aside or make it very minimal until aerobic and other forms of exercise have gotten them within 25 pounds of their ideal weight.
The reason that extreme obesity and weight lifting don't work well for weight loss is because obese people often tend to add muscle easily while they in turn resist losing weight.
What some weight loss and weight lifting gurus tell these obese folks is to concentrate their exercise and weight loss efforts in the realm of aerobic exercise until they have gotten their weight down to less than 25 pounds over their ideal body weight.
At this point they can then add the weight lifting to their weight loss and exercise regimen. A person, for example, who is 40 pounds overweight, is recommended to do 30-45 minutes of aerobic activity six days each week. It is further suggested that their weight loss exercise regiment be two different forms of aerobic exercise practiced on alternate days.
Once they get to within 24 pounds of their ideal weight then they can cut their aerobic exercise back to four days a week and use the other two days for weight lifting. This is considered the ideal weight training and weight loss method.
